If you can find Oxalic Acid at the drug store or hardware store, this works well to remove iron stains. The way this stuff works is that it chemically binds with iron to make it soluble in water. This acid is an organic acid and is a weak acid so it won't burn your skin. However, don't ingest it and keep it away from your eyes.

I live in a community that has problems with iron in the municiple water, so getting stains on clothes happens routinely. This gets them clean most of the time.

there replaced right into an answer via Goldy that replaced into chosen basically right answer-and right here it is going.... "in the U. S. there's a rust remover that you need to purchase in a copper colored bottle that i have used with good outcomes on fabrics. there is yet another product referred to as SoilLove (or some thing like that) that i have used for different sorts of stains. I once had some year previous rust stains on a favorite white cotton blouse - I had tried each and every thing else on it. ultimately, I squirted both on the blouse together figuring it replaced into ruined besides, the blend made smoke (which I prevented respiration, i replaced into outside) and the stain disappeared before my eyes". the position Cynnie who requested "Please tell me how i ought to get rid of a rust stain from my towel" the position she later says "thanks a lot. My towel is almost as good as new"....There you've it! good success!

Apply lemon juice and leave for a few minutes.

Rinse off then use a biological washing powder in the washing machine.

'Vanish' is also a commercial product you could try. Readily available in most supermarkets.
