Does anyone actually remember Maggie Thatcher?? Same thing here in terms of no-one currently good enough to take over!! but she went over a number of unpopular policies - notably poll tax - and was replaced by Major (disappointment). She was a leader that people either loved or hated - personally I didnt like her cos she was too right wing for me - but its the same for Blair. I think that if you were to really think about it Blair has done alot of good for the UK - you now have greater employment rights including NMW, Public services are in better shape than 1997, Britain is more respected on the world stage, ASBO's, etc etc. Granted there are unpopular things like Iraq, tuition fees (which by the way mean HE is properly funded and the money isnt coming from primary/secondary education to pay for it) etc but on balance we are living in a far better country than it was in 1997 with strong leadership and a stable economy. What short memories you guys have - or are you not old enough to remember the much worse administrations we have had in the past!!

I say if it takes a scot or welshman or anyone else to sort out the crap government, so be it. Labour are tax mad, lip service, crooked criminal liars, who have no real policies, other than suck up all the hard working peoples money and give it to asylum seekers, pay for terrorists and kiddie porn peddlars to stay in fancy hotels, and throw it at failing civil services, hoping they will clean themselves up. Tories new leader is proving to be just as much a waste of time. Hug a hoodie????? Increase fuel prices more, increase road tax??????? Who is this jack ***????? How far are we going to let them go???? Guy Fox had the right idea!!! Maybe then they will start to do what they say and listen to what the PEOPLE who actually contribute to society want!!!

Why Brown
Prescott is the man, he knows a good motor when he sees one he has got a Jag, or two, handy with his fists, doesnt get seasick, still alledgedly able to perform in the Bedroom. I am a paid up member of the Conservative Party but old John must be right up there as the most honest straight forward politician of his time.
Mind you I cannot get my head round why Blair can lie about weapons of mass destruction which cost many people their lives when Jeffery Archer gets banged up for paying a prostitute which hurt no body, perhaps it is all about who you know.
Anyway William Hague is the bloke, Labour need to lose the next election so as to be in opposition when the housing market implodes and brings down several banks and the governmant while the Conservatives need to lose so that we can get William in as leader to win the one after that, and the Liberals need to lose because they have not even begun to think through the implications of winning, poor old Menzies would probably die of shock for one thing.
No sorry Tony you have to carry on. Gordon is back room boy stuff, no Charisma, inability to lie convincingly, no way he could take on your mantle

Sorry, Mephistopheles, communism doesn't work, Russia, Korea and China are good examples. The system either breaks down or becomes, for all intents and purposes, a dictatorship. Anyone who still believes communism works must have been living in a tunnel for the last thirty years.

Yeah I want a regime change too - but I'm not content with remaining in the same system whereby you swop one clown for another - what we REALLY need is a complete overhaul of the entite system , the abolition of the monarchy which is now anachronistic, and the establishment of a SOCIALIST REPUBLIC in which, if we didn't like the head of state, we could in the fullness of time de-select them (unlike Mrs Windsor and her family). - I'm Chief Commissar!!!!!
