It depends.

It can be a stringed musical instrument played with a bow. The musical "sound" of a viola places it in range between the violin and the cello. It is about the same size as a violin. It is considered that the viola's timber is more "full-bodied" than a violin.

It can also be a flower (viola or violas). They are closely related to the family of flowers called violets. However I guess violas have larger flowers.
