isn't goodbye like for ever a very long long long time ?

or see you soon ?

It has to a slang of don't be so long next time. So long was popularized by the early cowboy serials. I think the most original good by was the Lone Rangers, with his distant Hi Ho Silver. It was a good by signature.

we didnt like to dispersed peoples whom we love so much.so we are using goodbye as long at the time of dispersing to feel they will be there for a few more time.Also for expressing our love or happiness with them for their presence with us.

Well, you could say "BYE", but then it wouldn't be a good "BYE", would it?
