There is no singular "oriental thought" since the Orient (meaning "East") comprises hundreds of cultures, languages, religions, and millions of square miles of territory.

Anyway, what you're probably referring to is the basic tenets of Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism, Taoism, etc. What each of these shares to a varying degree is the idea that the self is an illusion, that suffering comes from attachment to that illusion, and that one can become divine through action without thought.

Different Scholars talk about that Same Eternal Truth differently ... Probably that is the Wisdom behind the all encompassing nucleus of Oriental Thoughts ...
