Where I live. country--privacy--trees all around--wildlife--deer in my back yard (until my dog chases them away)-- I don't even lock my doors at night, leave them open to the fresh air and night sounds. Peace. Have a good life.

I thought that I had found utopia on a tropical Island in the Maldives, however after two weeks of sun, sand and good food I realised that I would go mad on an Island that is only half a mile in circumference. Since then I visited Inland Spain and fell in love with the local people.
We have brought a place in Alcaudete, population 11,000.

Why? Everyone stops to say Hi, It's like the UK was in the early 1960's, front door open, children playing in safety, If you have to much food you share it with the neighbours. They are friendly, helpfull and live a much more basic life style at a more leisurely pace. Everyone smiles.

They have a live and let live outlook on life.

I have a creek running through my back yard, and there is a fallen tree that hangs over the water. I like to go sit on the tree above the water in the evenings. Its really peacefull, and I can watch the wildlife down there. Theres a snapping turtle, lots of fish, a few water snakes, a ground hog that runs by occasionally, chipmuncks, varioius birds, and at night o'possums and racoons.

In an aviary in my attic. We're restoring an 80 year-old Arts and Crafts style home, so all I have right now are sketches and blueprints. It's the best diversion during class, when I'm done early with my work, and I can open my notebook and graph out the attic, and fill it with flight cages full of adopted birds.

It used to be the hills of Arkansas. The closest thing I have to a utopia now is my dreams (sleep dreams, not daydreams). I love dreaming. So many strange people, places, and things to see there.

60 mph on my motorcycle, cruising country roads. When riding you have to keep your mind on the feel of the bike and the winding road, all the cares of the day just take a back seat.
