I tried praying to god but he won't respond. I've been waiting for him to contact me for years, but still nothing. Go figure.

I used to ask myself that question time and time again. I pray to God once in a while but not all the time. The reason I do not pray all the time is that I have learned to answer my own prayers. I find that some people depend to much on God for support. If the answer is not responded we feel let down, failed and at times, angry. The important thing to remember about this question is that God does listen and in his own way; prayers are answered. Prayers are the like Gods ways, they move and in this case are answered in mysterious ways. There is a yes and no for everything.Depending on what your prayers are, perhaps God feels that it would be better off if things just played out without his intervention. My answer to you is not to give up your faith and always remember, "God works in mysterious ways".

How can U say that God Has not responded ,, If He has not respoded ,, U might not be here,, and posting the quistion,, He is very Much there,,and only this is,, ui have not recognised when he came to you,, and when he Responded,, u were not in a position to see him and understand him,, Infact U thank him 1st and then Request him again to show his presence,,,
God Loves u So Much,, Thats why He wanted to show his presence,,,

hmmm u are weird but let me see what i can say to u for u to understand ok this is it GOD is of a higher levle he is the most supreme being he is the creator of heaven and earth,alpha & Omega. with me soo far, ok there are soo many in the world today that would love to be able to speak with god or even see god but what they fail to understand is that god is every where he is everything beautiful eg. the wind u can feel it but u cant see it right?,love u can feel it but u cant see it right? another thing the bible said was that he will one day walk amoung us and well he is god so he can be in any form so all u have to do is live a good life and u will be able to see him .he gived u soo much he give u life and what ever u have dont u dare say tht u work for what u have your self because he was the one who gived u the strenght to get up and go in order to keep your self alive so my advise to u is find a good bible base church and begin your journey towards god and eternal life good luck

Live by faith. God answers all prayer. It may not be what you asked for. We are to pray for His will, not ours. Believe me, whatever the outcome was of the situation you prayed for, that was His will. Keep praying not asking for things or for something to go the way you see fit. Just put your burdens on Him and leave them there, Do not take them back and try a fix them.

hmmmmm, firstly.
god answers in many ways.
what i do is read the bible. some of my doubts or things i dont understand somehow become certain or clear when you read the bible.
you might shrugged off this idea but it works. pray a simple prayer like pray that god will speak through the bible and somehow the words will jump out and speak to you.
i dont know whats your situation but i know that it works.
Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
meaning it can speak to you even when you are just browsing through, when you are lonely or depressed, sad or happy. this scripture already says that it works, god's word never fails.

Do you have your life, good health or bad? another prayer answered
Maybe you are not asking the right question or praying for the right things.

at your age, you should not be asking this kind of questions. you should be thanking him for giving you longevity reaching your age. sometimes, god is responding in some miraculous way but i guess you are not paying attention. sometimes there are plenty of sign but we take it for granted.
like maybe you encounter a bad accident, since you are still alive, ain't that a sign that its not your time yet? meaning god is giving you precious time to think over about your life here on earth. remember our life is borrowed only, not permanent.
sometimes when you pray and ask for signs that god really understand your plea, does it rain? sunshine all over you? sometimes you beg for his forgiveness when you commit bad things if you never experience karma, he did forgive you.
or if you are down and out, but you manage to overcome your trials and tribulation, ain't that enough signs from god?

you don't ever be expexted that god will respond to you, and the same reason as everyone else, they're all sin, even I, so don't exspect to be lucky, cause its not a matterof if you pray on not, it matters of what you do, you have to approve yourself, and just because he dosen't respond to you dosen't means he's not there for you too, for god is choosing peopl wisely, he's not just going to talk to you for no reason.

u don't pray to him for thanking him.
