Not really. He's been a crazy risk-taking guy to me all my life. Catching crocodiles, petting snakes. my friends was sad though. Weird. I just felt sad for his family, he has a wife and 2 children.

No, why should it be? I didn't know the guy (and neither did you for that matter). He was just a celebrity of sorts. Not a god. The way everyone is carrying on you would think he had been King of the World. People die every day and so will you. People keep posting about him and there is really so much else going on in the world, which by the way will keep on revolving now that Irwin is gone from it. Blah, blah, blah. Peace to his family. Now please, can we just move on from this topic?

I don't exactly understand the question. Are you asking did it surprise me? No. I've said for as long as he's been around one day something will happen. I do hurt for his wife and children and although I had read/heard he always had a vast medical team with him at all times things arise that just cannot be taken care of. I do wish he had realized he had 3 people in this world that direly needed him and who he should still be here for. If he wanted to take those kinds of risks I wish he'd done it on his own and not brought children who now have to go on w/o a father due his risktaking behavior. very sad to me yet not surprising.

Nope. I really like the guy, but thats a damn good death.

A stingray! Thats happened 17 times in all of written history. What were the odds?
Beats cancer or sucking oxygen in a rest home somewhere.

I feel bad for his wife and kids, but she's no trophy wife, the kids are lucky to have her as a Mom.

i will never forget the image of steve irwin talking to the camera while sharks were in a feeding frenzy all around him while he stood in the water...the guy was a crazy kook but he was fascinating, funny and very entertaining...i kind of felt one day his luck would run out the way he took risks dealing with wildlife but i would never have guessed it would take a stingray to be the culprit....my condolences to his friends and family....he was one of a kind and his legacy will continue as his shows run on animal planet

Yes, I was saddened to hear of his death; he was such a delight to watch. He died doing what he loved; Steve was a good guy. I don't understand these other idiots' answers, so he use to do crazy things, so what! You don't relish at someone's death no matter how crazy or stupid you think they are.

Yeah, especially when it's so senseless. He took so many risks, it's not surprising though. It's sad for his widow and kids. My heart goes out to them.

Not really. If anything it serves to really show his fans not to mess with wild animals.
