M Nisar took 5/93 against England in the first test vs England in 1932 at Lord's.

Incidently 2nd 5 wicket haul was again by M Nisar in 1933/34 against England at Bombay: 5/90.

M.H. Mankhad of India was the first cricketer to take 5 wickets in an innings of a test match. He took 8 wickets in the finnings of 1st Test Match of 1952/53 series aginst Pakistan which was played at Feroz Shah Kotla Ground, Delhi on 16, 17, 18 and 19th October 1952. He took the 8 wickets in that innings of 47 overs conceding only 52 runs

kumble is one of 3 spinners (other two again being Shane Warne and Muttiah Muralitharan) and the only Indian bowler ever to have taken 5 wickets in a test innings 25 times and taken 10 wickets in a match 6 times
