Actually,he wasn't on his vacation. He was filming for his lates movie. It is about the deadliest creatures of deep blue ocean.
Anyway, that doesn't really matter.I am very sad he died, because of his children (he has two kids, one was born in 2003 ,and the older one in 1998,they are very young).I am so sorry his kids will grow up without him.For their mother,I am sad too.
And he wasn't even old,44 years. He could have lived another 44,but that's how faith wanted to happen.
I am truly sorry that planet lost such a great person,he loved nature and animals and he showed people how to love them too.
Rest in peace,Stewe Irwin

Yea i know i couldnt believe it either i feel bad for his wife and kids !Its going to be really hard for them.I always thought something like that would happen to him cause he pushed alot of bittons at times getting to close putting himself in alot of danger and i always said one day he would get seriously hurt or even killed! They say live by the sword die by the sword and i guess thats excatly what he did.It still sucks and he will be missed .just weird how he was in worse situations before and come out allright then goes on vacation and has a freak accident with a stingray of all things just blows my mind!!

I couldn't believe it...
but he wasn't on vacation... he was filming his latest documentary. He leaves a kid behing... at least he went down doing what he loves. It would be a terrible thing for a guy like that to die of... I don't know... a stupid car crash. At least he was in the wild and lived his passion till the end. And his son will forever remember his dad as a hero.

Yes, I'm very sad about it.
He wasn't on vacation, he was filming
And, it was the stingrays barb that went through his chest, to his heart.
I would think that it was very quick. I hope so anyway.
