Before you use tar remover or mineral spirits, try hand sanitizer. Use any of the liquid gels that you squeeze into your hand and rub until it evaporates. Squeeze a small amount on top of the pitch, let it stand for a few minutes and try to remove. Several applications may be required. It will often soften the pitch and break down its adhesive qualities. It is also less likely to damage the car or cause an irritation to your skin.

There are a lot of ways to remove pitch from your cars finish. You can use WD40. Just spray it on and wipe it with a clean cloth. You can use mineral spirits. You apply it with a clean rag. Another way is to go to a parts store and buy some bug and tar remover and use it the same way as the mineral spirits. Be sure to wax it afterwords, no matter what method you use, because you will remove the protective wax coating.

Use a soft cloth and charcoal lighter fluid. Works good. Less expensive.
