Hi I am hoping to go on an exchange to Italy ... but after reading some posts it sounds like the males are sexist players... I also heared that they are abusive and controlling. I do not want to imerse myself in a culture that condones this behaviour!

you'll find on your exchange that the italian men are really no different that the other men you are more familiar with except italian men have that sexy accent.
Are you going there to meet the men, or are you going there to actually immerce yourself in that culture to truly apprciate another land?
If your scared, you will never know another place and will be stuck in your kiwi land doin' nothing to open your self to actual personal views on the statue David or a quick jaunt to the Vatican all 50 miles of it. You will always curse yourself that you never went.
Stop worring about how other people view things and make your own opinions.

I'm an Italian girl and it's not true that Italian males are sexist or abusive! Not in general, there are some men like this, but they are usually over 50 years old... So don't worry! :)

Any man can be sexist or abusive... it has nothing to do with whether they are asian italian irish black white purple or green, just be careful and if a guy does something ur not comfortable with let him know it

They are macho, abusive & sexist compared to American culture.
This is accepted in Italian culture..
If you don't want to get pinched & fondled, don't go to Italy...
And if you do, don't complain or call the cops because you will lose.

in every culture there are sexist and there are abusive men dear... its just the way we can be sometimes.. personally i find italian men very sexy so.......

there all equal some can be sexsit or abusvie comes in all rasict...and it depends who you meet and the italians are good looking people...hope you find what ya looking for
