Any city that has a Chinatown will have a Lion Dance group. They are wonderful! It has to be the most active and agile dance form in the world -- and there aren't any fat Lion dancers! Most of them are in incredible shape. They certainly add fun to any celebration.
Advice? Just stay with it and enjoy....

Apparently, not too many people here actually do the lion dance. I always enjoy watching it though. My college has student clubs that do lion dance. Maybe you can try local colledge - they are usually OK with accepting younger people.
