Absolute selflessness. You see, greed depicts the urge to gain profits for self, even if it means gaining profits from the other members of the society.

In Islam, there is a good system of "Amar Bil-Maroof wa Nahi anil Munkir", Ordering the good deeds and stopping the bad deeds. There are certain aspects of Islam that you might not know about.

Like, there is a system of Zakaat. Zakaat is a charity given to under-privileged brethren of the society. It is a certain amount, approx. 2.5 % of your total wealth, which you have to give as charity. Zakaat is due annually on your income, your jewelry etc. It is a good obligation, as far as one wants to get rid of accumulation of wealth is concerned. The urge to accumulate more wealth gives strength to such desires as greed. If you can get rid of such act collectively as a society, selflessness would prevail for sure.
