OK, I know this is a dumb question, using MS Works 8.0. Has printed in black for me no problem. Let my kid use the computer, now it only prints in blue. She had tried to print a picture evidently, and it was coming out mostly faded blue. Tried going to Fonts and changing it, it's showing in black, just won't print black. The colored ink is low, especially now that I've printed about 15 pages trying to fix it. I use a refill kit-which has worked for me for awhile- for the black. Will changing the ink cartridges have anything to do with it? Thanks!

Could be a number of things;

the most obvious that come to my mind is that your black cartridge might be jammed with dry ink which prevent it to print.

Maybe your "printers" settings have been modified, check out the control panel and printers option.

If none of this help, try re-installing your printer's driver, there might be a configuration error, but I doubt this will change a thing.

Re-fill packs are notorious for being cheap and jamming cartridge, especially thoses who have been refilled over and over, they get old, electronics connectors sometime simply stop connecting, time to change the cartridge.

Hope this solve your trouble.

With several printers, that is kind of a "default" clue that you are out of ink. Blue is the least used color and so that ink lasts the longest.

Start the process of printing and when the menu comes up go to "advanced". See if the arrows are still set at medium and make sure "grayscale" isn't selected.

Hope that helps.
