Well, there is a few thing you can do;
Call your ISP and request Ultra-high speed service or you can use a web accelerator.
Web accelerators may be installed on the client (browsing) computer / mobile device or on ISP hosted servers or both. Accelerating delivery through compression requires some type of host based server to collect, compress and then deliver content to a client computer.
As of July 2006, these applications generally serve to improve dial-up, broadband and other connections that users may not be getting the best speed from. Many users can achieve a 2 to 10 times speed increase in average browsing experience, while some report a 5 to 20 times speed increases for specific web sites and pages. Many ISPs offer web accelerators as a part of their dial up and broadband services. Web accelerators are typically designed for web browsing and, sometimes, for e-mailing and can not improve speeds of streaming, gaming, P2P downloads or many other Internet applications.
Check out links below for more info....you can try one of them or type web accelerator in google for more.
Hope this helps....

if you got it from Best Buy they do a test b/4 you leave that will make it run faster but other then that have highspeed internet and make sure it is wireless that is the fastest thing that I know of and also if you go to a computer store check into a chill pad as you will find out here soon laptops get hot and with this chill pad it draws the heat away from your computer also which makes it go a little bit faster and it keeps your computer from over heating or catching on fire good luck

only install trusted software,subscribe to cable,wireless or satellite.keep your hard drive defragmented.Your desktop probably has a faster processor.stay away from internet offers to make your laptop run faster.as long as you do the basic maintainence eg. defrag hard drive,keepout spam and ads, have a good virus program, a dependable firewall. your laptop will run only as fast as it was ment to be.if you load up your hard drive with junk, it will slow down considerably.Also some website such as myspace, yahoo etc have so many people accessing them that it will slow down when youn try to log onto them. Subscribe to Smart Computing magazine. it has a lot of helpful information.

The rate of transfer. I used a 54 modem and it crawled. I went to my cable companys 64K system. Alittle better but not much. I am now using 1M and everything is so fast now. Game playing, pictures, transfering from one site to another. Its great. This was done on the same machine so the computer itself had nothing to do with it.
