i will never forget the image of steve irwin talking to the camera while sharks were in a feeding frenzy all around him while he stood in the water...the guy was a crazy kook but he was fascinating, funny and very entertaining...i kind of felt one day his luck would run out the way he took risks dealing with wildlife but i would never have guessed it would take a stingray to be the culprit....my condolences to his friends and family....he was one of a kind and his legacy will continue as his shows run on animal planet

Every human being is bound to taste death: but only on the Day of Resurrection will you be requited in full [for whatever you have done] - whereupon he that shall be drawn away from the fire and brought into paradise will indeed have gained a triumph: for the life of this world is nothing but an enjoyment of self-delusion. [3:185]
Verily, God's alone is the dominion over the heavens and the earth; He [alone] grants life and deals death; and there is none besides God who could protect you or bring you succour. [9:116]
He alone grants life and deals death; and unto Him you all must return. [10:56]

Tragic end. I live in Oregon, where Terri is from. That poor gal, and those poor kids. Bindi is such a cutie. :D I hope they still go foward with Bindi's show. I really think that girl could go far in this world if she appeared in it.
If it makes any difference, I'm sure Steve would have insisted on a dramatic exit. He is quite the character.
Its a shame he had to leave the planet so soon. I bet he's laughing himself silly though, for allowing a stingray to get the best of him.

Leave my condolences? I didn't even know the guy and neither did anyone else here on this forum. Enough with Steve Irwin already. He was not a god, just a mortal man who was a celebrity of sorts. He died. So will you one day, and so will we all. Your life is NOT affected by his demise and neither is anyone else's here. People all over the world die every day. Let's not treat this a something more than it is. A tragic mishap that has separated a man from his family. Period. End of story. Can we PLEASE, PLEASE move on now! This idol worship is becoming ridiculous and very unecessary. The world will continue to revolve and frankly, there are more important things going on in it than the demise of ONE person. Peace to his family. Enough!

I'm very sad, and almost in shock still. I was in love with his show when I was younger, and you see him kiss the deadliest snake in the world on the nose, and for some reason you get the belief that he is quite 'invincible' and then this happens and it's a slap in the face to reality. I pray for his family and friends that God blesses them and gives them peace. Rest in Peace Steve Irwin.

Its a sad end to a good man, who loved animals and made his misson to teach others about the varieties of creatures in this world. I think he will be at peace with himself...for he died doing what following his passion. Very few people get that honor and opportunity. Peace be with his soul.

Very sad, although, I am wondering why we are all so shocked. It seems perfectly logical, statistically, that one day he would end up on the bad side of a confrontation. I know he loved animals, and educated millions. It makes me think of the old saying, "When you least expect it, expect it." There are very few personalities that are so big and engaging and I will miss him and knowing he's out there.

Steve was a moron for taking reckless chances with animals.
I am a scuba diver and would never enter the water without a wetsuit and vest, which could have prevented the injury to Steve.
He was a daredevil with animals... that's for sure!

I don't really care.
Just some dude on TV. You mess with wild, unpredictable animals, you risk death. I don't see how his death is a tragedy.
If he had inoperable brain cancer, that would be a tragedy.
