Yes, Steve's father is still living and he is painfully mourning the passing of his wonderful son. Steve's wife is in shock and can't believe this has happened.
I believe we all should send our sincerest condolences to his entire family during this very difficult time.

I just read on YAHOO World News (AFP worldwide news agency) that Steve Irwin's father, Bob, a reptile enthusiast who started the Australia Zoo in 1970, and who appeared on several Crocodile Hunter episodes with his son, will make a public statement on Wednesday, thanking people for support, according to the zoo official, Peter Lang.

I heard he was recently killed in a car accident, however i cant tell you with 100% certainty. My condolences also to Terry, Bindi and Bob. R.I.P Steve. Well its Wednesday now and I just saw his dad talking on the news. Sad that he's been left out of all the condolence messages. So here's to you old man! And what a man you must be to raise a son as passionate about something as your son was about his family and wildlife conservation.

Yes his father is. Sadly his mother died in a car accident a few years ago. He was such a nice man RIP Steve.

Well, since he inherited the Australia Zoo from his parents, I'm guessing they've already died. But I do feel for his wife and their eight year old daughter and three year old son. Its such a tragedy.
