It had something to do with him giving his true love to get some kind of stone. Then he kills the grim reaper and becomes him. He goes around in purgatory. I really want to know what the title is

Sounds like a Black Sabbath song, "Iron Man" (or something like that) where a man goes to the future to find a robot destroying the world. He goes back to the present to warn people but in doing so, becomes metallic. People freak and try to kill him which prompts him to destroy the world.
