If you want o keep it that way its up to you. I would change the appearance and go with flowers.

I did this in black and white tiles, only a little different from just doing the 12x12" tiles. It's on a bigger scale. It's less "busy." I made big 24x24" squares out of 4 black tiles and 4 white tiles. Very cool. Black and white are nuetral colors, so you can do whatever as far as color in the rest of your kitchen. If you want black and red though, go for it. I have "alfalfa" colored walls which is a light, fresh green color and light maple cupboards. I have some free standing 30s era cupboards also. Directions for applying the tiles will be at the store where you buy them. Just adjust for bigger blocks.

I don"t know anyone with sheet goods like that but you could make your own with red and black 12" self adhesive squares
