A Corset is something women would use to change the shape of there body to create an hour glass shape so to speak. I don't think they are used anymore in today's wardrobe. Back in the old west, it would take the help of an extra person to pull the straps tight on corset.
Lingerie, is those cute sexy little nighties that women ware to entice her man. This is what you'll find passing by the Victoria Secrets window in the Mall.
A sports bra is basically a bra made of stretchy spandex for comfort and cotton to help absorb perspiration. These type of bras generally flatten a woman's breast. It just makes it more comfortable and helps create better movement.
A,B,C, D, etc. is the actual cup size. I don't know why they use letters instead of numbers but it's really no different than filling a balloon with one cup of water then placing it into an A cup Bra, it would perfectly. Just as 2 cups of water would fit into a B cup bra and so on.

A females unmentionables? The corset stops the slouch and helps the diet stay birdlike. the Cup sizes imply how much fat needs to be held up and the sports bra stops them from bouncing. All good devices if the wearer wants to prevent premature sag.

Historically, Corsets are a heavily boned restrictive and tightly laced overgarment that was worn tightly to the exclusion of most of ones ability to breathe. Excessive use of corsets could and did result in relocation of internal organs along with wasp waists. Modern Corsets are based on "Victorian Corset" designs, which are angled differently than medieval corset designs.
A Sports Bra is designed to hold the breasts close to the chest and minimize bounce during the movement anticipated during sports. Cups A B and C as well as D, DD and larger sizes refer to sizes of cups in bras, while the sizes of the bra fabric around the chest is given in a two digit number of inches. hence there could be a 34B or a 40C bra.
Lingerie is underwear, sleepwear, and other items of intimate apparel worn (usually only) by women (emphasis mine). - Definition without emphasis from dictionary, com adapted from Random House Dictionary.
