Roppongi will be a better choice in general. You may have to hop and bounce between different places, different nights have different crowds.

Once drunk as we gaijin can be, we stumbled and searched for the underground club that we heard about, but have never found in Roppongi. Legend/rumor goes to the effect that it moves locations, you could not figure out where it is from the street. Too drunk, we gave up and drank some more.

I have been here for about 3 months and i noticed some of these clubs are owned by Africans. They usually approach you when you walk by their clubs and offer to visit. I also noticed that if it looks like they are going to a rave or techno.....they might be! Being black myself im also approached by different people wanting me to go to their clubs and shake my bootay heheheheh. But i heard Roppongi is the hot spot.....if not Yokohama is a cool place too!

Roppongi.
Just follow a group of people.
7 out of 10 they will be headed to a club of one type or another.
And almost 80% will have hip hop and R&B nights on either if not everyday of the weekend Fri/Sat/Sun.

The remaining 3 out of 7 will be most likely going to strip clubs, Kyaba Clubs or bars.

Don't touch the booty, though: it either has VD or wants your money.
