No. Take any study on domestic violence against women and look at the data charts that are being summarized and you will find that at least 39% of victims are men. Something never mentioned in the summaries.

The main difference is that under the Violence Against Women Act, only female shelters can get government funding and if a man defends himself, he is considered the abuser. In a 1995 decision by the Michigan Supreme Court, under the Act a father who defended himself from the abuse of his child's mother could not have custody or unsupervised visitation rights with the child.

My one goal in life is to build Dad's House, a shelter for fathers and children.

It might be noted that women are in far more danger from spousal abuse from a female lover than a man. Something also not mentioned in the summaries.

Absolutely not!
I hear a lot about women who beat the slop outa their men, but because the man won't hit her back and doesn't want to look like a wimp, he'll keep it quiet.

I know one guy who's wife has cut him really bad in the past (he needed well over 20 stitches in his arm) but tried to cover for her to protect his kids and his sense of manhood. He didn't want to be emasculated.

Spousal abuse is when any person male or female becomes abusive, and it doesn't mean just physically. Verbal/emotional abuse can be just as bad, if not more damaging than physical.

NO...there is verbal abuse as well..I went thru this with my ex-husband..it makes you have low self esteem and at times you do not even realize it..the words cant be taken back, and since the brain is like a recorder, you play them over and over..at times I wish he would have hit me instead of saying the things he did...but some folks just think before they speak...after so many "i'm sorry" you have a hard time forgiving...if you are being abused..get out now , or seek counseling

Verbal abuse can be even worse. No woman has to take either one from a man these days. Run, do not walk away from any man that is guilty of either action. It only will get worse as time goes on.

Nope. Spousal abuse can be when a woman hits a man or a man hits a woman. It can also be emotional abuse.

There is mental abuse , verbal abuse, and physical abuse. I am so sorry for you. Sounds like you need to get some help and get out of there fast. It won't get any better. I didn't mean you need the help I meant that he needs help. You need help in the sense that you need to find another place to be. Not where you will continue to be abused. God be with you.

Spouse abuse is when either party hurts the other party; gender doesn't play a role.
Abuse can be physical, or mental. Calling a spouse names, demeaning her/him, playing dirty mind games, harassing, pulling potentially harmful stunts just for your own kicks when you know it could hurt the other party; all that is abuse.

NO! A woman CAN and has been known to abuse males. But you don't hear it because it is a 'male thing' where the males are too afraid to admit that a female has hit them....
