This is a sign of cervicitis- cervical infection. It will have to be treated but in the second trimester as any treatment given now can have an adverse effect on your baby, though a number of safe antibiotics have come up that can be used even in the first trimester, but the reason for their use has to be real strong and urgent. Your problem can wait for a few weeks and dealt with thereafter and your partner may have to be treated simultaneously so that the infection is taken care of in a proper and thorough manner.

I know that while I am pregnant, I can feel my husband actually hit my cervix when we are, having sex. It feels like a popping on the way in and a popping on the way out (uncomfortable). So i know that the cervix changes during pregnancy, and i suppose can be irritated during sex. Was this after sex? If not, then you should ask your ob/gyn. Contact their office, and if you are really uncomfortable about what's going on, make an appointment to see him/her and get checked out. That way, you have the opinion of your trusted health care provider, and not just the nurses at the hospital who sometimes seem like you are wasting their time.

caused by rough sex.. when you are pregnant, the cervix is typically more sensitive and red. Intercourse can irritate it further. Talk to your OB, he/she may restrict you from intercourse.

This requires examination by a gynecologist.
