We are not in good shape, but huge trouble.
Unemployment rates do not show statistics, such as the pay cuts a person has had to take to get that new job. It also does not show the figures of a person that has run out of benefits, even if they are still unemployed. So unemployment figures are not accurate. I don't see how someone who was making $10/hr., now making only $6/hr. is a great thing. This is happening to CEOs, as well as the general laborer.
This is just one example of the trouble we are in.
We are being herded like so many cattle to the slaughter-house. If you are liberal, you are separated and put over there. If you are against illegal immigration, you are put over in that corner. You are separated by your particular religion, or if you aren't religious at all. You are separated and scrutinized if you have a particular name, or skin color, probably more than any other time in history. The government may wiretap anyone they see fit without a warrant. You think it may be alright because you don't do anything that you would be embarassed about or illegal, but this is just the first step. What happens when someone comes knocking on your door to take your freedom away, take your house away because they decide that would be a great place to put a base of operations.
I am smart enough not to ask, "What's next?" anymore, because not much surprises me at this point.
We are in horrible trouble.

In deep trouble as long as bush and his gang of idiots are in office. Take a look at what "dumbaya" has done. If you noticed, everything he has stated we are at "war" against has gotten worse. The War on Terror - now there are more countries that hate us than before. Afghanistan was one thing, but he caused a lot of trouble going into Iraq for no reason. The War on Liberals - well, right now his approval rating is hitting record lows. Right now, his approval number would be considered too cold in Antarctica. No Child Left Behind - is a joke. Only the rich kids aren't left behind. The budget, jobs, etc, but he will be exposed once the Senate becomes a Democratic majority.

The "State of the Union" is great at the present time.Unemployment is at 4.7%.Thats the lowest it's been in the last 15 years. The economy is doing very well. The stock market is up.Oil prices are falling, although I think they could be lower.Jobs are plentiful, even with illegals filling a lot of positions that Americans WOULD take if they were open.Yes,Pres. Bush has made a few gaffs on foreign policy matters, but on the home front he has done well.I put his tax cuts at the top of the list.

We are in trouble---big trouble! Between the immigration issue, war, the polarization of our populace, the economy, our broken educational system, the environment, apathy of the citizenry.

If we don't do something we will all be speaking Chinese--mark my words, they are the next great superpower if things don't change SOON!

We're in trouble because of poor leadership.

We need a president who isn't nearly as arrogant and bull-headed as this one. One who is more thoughtful in his decision-making process rather then this joker who believes that his way is the only way

We are in trouble. We are approaching a Civil War -- a cultural civil war. Abortion, gay marriage, the slice of swiss cheese separating church and state -- on these issues we can't get along, we don't trust one another, and we can't -- or won't --compromise.

No I don't like it one little bit. Look around & you tell me if you see more poor people. I'm talking about the ones that work their buts off for far less then what they ever got before.
