I am in a relationship with a man who I know who loves me but we have so many problems. But seriously, the biggest problem we have is about his foot fetish. It is not the fetish itself that causes the problem, it is the expectations he holds with the fetish. He hates sandals and so he requests that I do not wear any open toed shoes, also, he likes sweaty feet so he requests that I keep my shoes on when I am in the house so when we become intimate they will be sweaty. I have tried to meet him half way on this but his need seems to be all of the time. I really love this man, but this problem has become the center focus of our relationship. He fears that I will begin a routine of just taking my shoes off after work without consideration to his needs. This is such a strange thing for me to break off an engagement, but today, that is what it is leading to. Does anybody have any advice on how to save this relationship over this problem?

That seems rather controlling. But I also hate to have sweaty feet. It's uncomfortable. Have you discussed this with him? You need to tell him that you have needs too. Maybe you could compromise and set aside certain days for sandals and other days as sweaty sneaker day.

Counseling may help. But if this is something that you don't think yo u can put up with for the rest of your life, I wouldn't marry him.

Get couples counceling. That is a bit strange but just tell him what you just wrote in you question. If he loves you more than the foot fetish, then you should have no problems. If he cares more about the feet, give him the boot! Pun intended

Your man needs some kind of therapy. His fetish is a little too much for any normal person.

Honestly, i think he was really sick of something the cause him to have such a needs.

Anyway, Tell him what's on your mind, share you problems and see how you both can compromise on both sides..

If no solution.. you have to tell him that you have no/lost hope.. n would plan to leave..

When there's a action, you'll see the reflection

the ONLY question that needs to be answered is-- Do you love him enough to put up with this fetish forever ? God bless

Get a pool or a jacuzzi, and get in it every night with him. This will reduce smell. Other wise, powder his shoes everynight. If none of this works, try farting under the blankets and make him smell to see if he likes it. If he does, you are doomed.

when someone else's needs interferes with your level of comfort or your own needs and they are refusing to compromise then it's time for a break up.......the only way to save is a compromise
