First I would talk to your pastor about it and ask his advice. Your son is testing you to what you reaction is going to be. As a man and christian this behavior, especially in church is unacceptable. If you are a single mother, are there any men in you church that you can turn to. Your son is testing his boundaries with you. If you do not find a way to put this in check immediately it will only get worse as he matures. This I promise you is only the beginning. I do not advocate abuse but corporal punishment is a very effective tool when dealing with a young male. DO NOT respond when your angry. Always have him stand in front of you without fidgeting and have eye contact with him. This if psychological control over him. Make sure that you have his undivided attention then explain why YOU do not find his behavior acceptable. All this must be done within 15 min of occurrence or he will have no idea why you are disciplining him. If this commom language in your household you cannot expect him not to foolow suite. We learn from our enviroment. You have train yourseolf not to use the language if this is the case.

Ok, well I think you probably need to find out where he is hearing those words. If he hears them at home.....then you, nor the people who he is around, need to be using words like that around him. I am sure if you used curse words before you had a son, it is certainly an adjustment to stop , but try and find other words he can use....such as "Goodness Gracious"...instead of H. st, "what in the world" instead of wtf or sob,"shoot" instead of sht, "Darn" or "Man" instead of dmt.
You need to model other ways of expressing things. Don't curse in front of him, and ask other people not to. If he is hearing it from friends, figure out who they are, and ask their parents about it. Cause although many people curse, or have cursed, when done in really inappropriate situations (i.e. public, church, school, family) it can be uncomfortable for many people. In my personal opinion, the problem is not just the fact he is using the words "way too much", he shouldn't be using those words at all, especially at the age of 7. I am NOT blaming you at all, just suggesting that he might hear them at home or on TV, and if you can model other phrases or ways of dealing with things, he will catch on. Also, tell him that those words can offend people, and explain why. I hope everything works out!!
P.s. Wash his mouth out with soap! I AM ONLY KIDDING, PLEASE DON'T DO THAT.... I AM NOT REALLY ADVISING YOU TO DO THAT. THESE DAYS, YOU MIGHT GET IN TROUBLE FOR THAT...WHO KNOWS?!
P.s. I just read what someone wrote about slapping your kid across the face each time, and making him sit in the corner.....please don't do that. It is a bad idea for many reasons, and although it may keep him from cussing.....what do you think his next problem is going to be?hmmmmmm MAYBE HITTING?!
KIDS LEARN FROM YOU!!! THEY WATCH THEIR PARENTS AND HOW THEIR PARENTS DEAL WITH THINGS.....THEY PICK UP ON A LOT MORE THAN YOU THINK THEY DO....

some time at home, talk to him alone. Get down to his height. It is important to make eye contact. Let him know that it is bad in a firm voice. Tell him that you'll wash his mouth out with soap if he cusses again. That's what my mom did with me, and it works great.

first let him know that cursing is not ok, especially in the presence of adults (because he is going to curse anyway, so letting him know that, he'll be more cautious not to curse in front of adults) second, do not make it out to be a big deal, i.e gasping, shouting, or crying when he does it. Third, if he continues to curse in front of adults and punishment is not working then it's time to tap that *ss!
