Right at 40 weeks I was induced, the Dr gave me pitocin at about 7am, at around 10am he broke my water (nasty by the way) and hooked the internal monitor to Jr. I asked for the epidural at around.. don't know too much pain. Anyway I labored till about 10 that night then they wanted me to start pushing, I was only dialated to about 9 I pushed for an hour. Dr said that I needed to feel what was going on, so they stopped the epidural and gave me more pitocin.. I pushed for another hour and a half, started to run a fever then they decided to give me a c-section, by this time I don't have any drugs in my system, tears are streaming down my face and there was a lot of profanity.. for some reason the OR is a long ways away from L&D.. Jr was delivered, then it felt like someone placed a boulder on my chest, and I can't really remember the rest... We later realized that Jr was too big to have fit through that 9 cm hole, which was what I was trying to tell my Dr. throughout my entire pregnancy

I can beat almost anyone with my induction story
Friday- 2 weeks over due. I go to the hospital and my doctor rubs some sort of cream on my cervix that is supposed to start labour. Only it doesn't work so around lunch time they send me home.
Monday-Return to the hospital. Have a Pitocin drip started. Only the nurses are too busy to turn it up fast enough, so at around supper time they turn it off. They don't want me labouring through the night.
Tuesday- After a lite breakfast of toast my doctor decides that since I am so overdue and not dilating on my own that he would insert a balloon type device to dilate me to 3cm.
Wednesday-Pull out the balloon, break my water, restart the Pitocin. This is where I should tell you that my hospital does not do epidurals. So when the time comes I get a unuseful shot of demerol in my bum. I complain for 30minutes that it is doing nothing, before they finally let me have more Demoral, but this time in my IV. Over the course of the day I see 3 different doctors for internal exams, one of which has sausages for fingers. After I am finally moved to the delievery room and pushing some strange man walks into the room and proceeds to tell us that he just had a baby girl! At some point my doctor decides that I need some help and uses the vaccuum to help deliever my son.
Austin was born at 5:25pm. Weighted 10lbs 11oz 2 feet long and came out both shoulders at the same time! And for those of you wondering.....1 stitch!
Any wonder why I waited 9 years before having another.

I got induced at 8:00 a.m. and I thought I would deliver that afternoon or that evening. My contractions were terrible all through the evening and I did not get my epidural till about 2:00 a.m. I had to demand it. The nurse just kept telling me to breathe through the contractions. I delivered the baby about 30 hours after getting induced and I was so exhausted and I felt like I was pushing forever and nothing happening. My husband kept sticking that oxygen mask on my face and saying "breathe". I guess he watched too many episodes of E.R. The doctor finally suctioned the baby out. He is a happy, healthy, beautiful baby and I am very blessed.

OMG ! That's aweful. Similar to mine though... I was induced at 41 weeks at 12Noon when I was exactly 7 days late. The pitocin ran in my system until 6:30pm without a single contraction !! My doctor came in and broke my waters at 6:30 when my contractions started immediately !! I asked for epidural about an hour and a half later and it wore off after about 45 minutes. I labored in pain for the next hour and a half when the anesthesiologist decided to take out the first epidural and begin a 2nd one. That one went straight to my left leg and numbed it for a full 12 hours !! While the doctor was putting my 2nd eipdural in, my husband passed out in the floor b/c he hadn't eaten in 20+ hours. So while he was down in the ER getting his head checked out, my Mom and my MIL were in the room with me (ugh) for an hour or so during which, HARD labor began. I went from 3cm dilated to 9cm dilated in 45 minutes !! (feeling every single contraction and labor pain along the way and completely unable to get out of the bed due to the belly monitors, BP cuff, oxygen detector on my finger, and IV's) I started pushing @6AM and at 8:17Am, my sweet baby girl was FINALLY born !!
However, after I delivered the afterbirth, my cervix didn't close up immediately as it should have and I hemorraged and lost 3 units of blood in 30 seconds time!! I was in the hospital an extra day, but thankfully my baby girl was and still is perfectly healthy !!!

Here's my story. I was induced at 41 weeks. I went in at 7 am also. They inserted a pill in me, can't remember the name, that was supposed to make me dialate. It didn't do it's job. They started the pitocin too. They broke my water around noon. I was about 2 cm dialated. My contractions were irregular so they kept upping the pitocin. My in laws came to visit, this is the worst part to me. The doctor came in to examine me and my father-in-law was sitting at the end of the bed and wouldn't move! Nobody said anything to him and the doctor kept waiting for him to leave. My mother had to make him leave. I was still 2 cm dialated. It was around 7 pm and the pitocin was a full, they couldn't up it anymore, when I asked for the epidural I originally said I didn't want. I was only 3 cm dialated but the nurse lied to the guy so he would give it to me. The doctor came back at 10pm and I was still 3 cm. He said we needed to talk about a c-section. He decided to wait. He told me to sleep. I went to sleep and woke up at 3am feeling SO much pressure. (After they gave me the epidural I couldn't feel anything. I couldn't move my legs.) So the nurse checked me 'cause she thought the catheter had pulled out of my back. It hadn't. I was 10 cm and ready. She told me to start pushing. I pushed for 30 min before my son was born. He weighed 9 lbs and was 21 in long. We was born at 4:02 am. Today he is a happy healthy 17 month old, but that labor makes me a little scared to have another.

My induction wasn't too bad. I went in on a Tues...had the prostaglandin gel inserted onto my cervix...nothing happened...tehy gave me the gel again 8 hours later...still no labour. My uterus started spasming but no labour...I kept throwing up. They kept miving me from the maternity ward downstairs to labour and delivery, then back up to maternity. There was too many women in active labour to start the pitocin drip. So they gave me a dose of demerol to stop the spazming cramps...then kept waking me up to see if I was feeling the baby move (I couldn't even feel my feet at this time) so I get up in the morning...still no labour...they send me home...I'm home no longer than a couple of hours, and my water breaks...so back to the hospital...still no labour. Still no time to start the drip (no nurses available for 1 on 1 required for the drip) Hang aroud in labour all night (2 people have their babies in the room next to me) Finally at 8 am they HAVE to start the drip. They get it started, and labour hits me right away. My Dr had then put in an wpidural right away...had an intern do it so it didn't go in right the first time (I'm overweight, and he couldn't find my spine) so they finally get the epidural in and relief...I finally fall asleep after being awake since Tues. I was in labour for 6 hours (sleeping the whole time) and then woke up feeling like crap..started to shiver...was getting an infection. Finally ready to push...puke a few times first. Pushed my baby out in 33 minutes...hs to call in teh pediatrician and his team becasue I broke a fever when he was born...they cut the cord, and let me see him for a few minutes, and took him off to the baby unit. I go in and see him...he was 8lb 4 oz...and 24" long. He's perfectly healthy...but they need to test him for 48 hours. Here he is in the nic -u with all these babies that some only weighed 800 grams and some that had been there for about 3 months. I felt terrible being there, because my baby was fine.

I was induced at around 10:30AM, was 4cm, and 90% effaced, at around 5PM i was instructed to push and had a beautiful 7 1/2 lb, 19 inch baby boy at 5:58PM. I had an epidural when it started to hurt, and other than occasional back pain, everything is perfect.

It does look unusual that your surgeon has scheduled an induction for something that he does not even comprehend will take place of course on that's very own interior those next 2 weeks? what's his reason for it precisely because of the fact if I have been you i could be greater desirable than purely a touch curious and it style of feels you're no longer worried in any respect? If he happens to be occurring trip there are various different docs to fill his footwear jointly as he's long previous so as which you will have the possibility to have a organic vaginal childbirth devoid of the hazards that incorporate pointless induction that has no reason to even state that that's significant in case you haven't any longer even been given the possibility to dialate on your very own as of yet. He won't be able to easily attempt a psychic premonition or something ya comprehend? Ask him why precisely because it incredibly is your precise to comprehend first and greater desirable in the previous even readying for the hazards and area outcomes and after outcomes the rationalization could come first, if no reason good sufficient, do no longer do it you should be endangering your existence and the toddler's greater desirable than you comprehend or he even is familiar with for that count, he won't be able to assume the destiny in any way shape or style he can purely recommend yet devoid of putting him and his way of existence and all in the previous your wellbeing wherein to benefit him and his desires. my first went for 44 hours, won't say any more. second was induced after 4 false but convincing 8 hour labours. doctor said I wasn't ready but went ahead as I was stressed out. had gel in evening, broke my waters at 9.30 am despite only being 2cm. gave birth 1 hour 20 mins later. big ouch even on pethidine. my third was also induced. started with cramps, turned into proper contractions, delivered in less than an hour. massive pain, no time for drugs. don't know which is worse, long time and ouch or short and excruciating. think short but only if you know it will be short.
