It is recommended to wait until 4 months to take a baby into the pool. I phoned the local pool in my town and asked them and that's what they said.

depends on where the pool is. if its your own backyard pool, yes, if the baby likes bath time, but never take a baby that young into a public pool! Too many germs and foolish kids jostling. your baby could get a serious infection, or some kid could accidentally knock him out of your arms.

I wouldn't suggest carrying the baby. A wet wriggly baby is soo slippery. I would try a waterproof baby sling. Then you can take your baby into the pool without worrying about dropping him/her accidentally. I'd also be really careful not to get any water in his/her eyes. Ouch!

Ummm...i would be careful.
I am not to sure how safe pool chemicals are for babies.
And you can't put sun screen on babies until they are
6 months old.
I took my daughter in the pool when she was just about 4 months old...she loves the water.

I would be more worried about the temp of the water than the germs or chemicals...the chemicals kill the germs and I don't think the chlorine would be strong enough to harm an infant as it is in public water systems most people use to mix formula.
