When I logged onto the internet this morning I was shocked to hear that the beloved "Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin was killed by a fatal singray barb to the heart! I was crying and very upset, and I still am. I loved watching his program and he was a very great man. I know he did a lot of dangerous things and knew he was gonna get hurt, but I never thought he would actually die. I was just wondering how many other people feel sorry for his family, and are shocked at his untimely death.

i love him too! i agree with the false hope of him being invincible. he always seemed the crazy guy who would put his head in an alligator, feed lions, and play with poisonous snakes.... all without even breaking a sweat. who's gunna try and replace him? because i dont think it's possible.

i feel bad for his two kids. one is only 2!

i heard yesterday morning from a friend and I just pulled over to the side of the road and burst into tears. I could hardly tell my brother and sister-inlaw what had happened. i live in Cairns...my friend with the Marine Park Authority called me. im still in shock over 24 hours later...how can he be gone?

i have had the pleasure of meeting Steve through family friends who share a property boarder with Australia Zoo and he is, just like you see on television, but everyone who met him and a lot of Australians who didnt already know that. i am planning a trip to Batt Reef next week to pay my respects to Steve. My thoughts have been with his wife and kids since yesterday...but especially last night when Terri would have put her kids to bed...she would be devestated. Steve was a proud and devoted father and I will always remember him for that.

I hope that the world never forgets Steve Irwin "The Crocodile Hunter"...he will be missed by millions...including myself...

Shocked that Steve Irwin died is an understatement... As the other person said I kind of thought that he was "invincible". I hate it for his children. I hate to say I figured if he did ever go it would be by an alligator not a sting ray. My condolence to his family, friends & fans. He will be missed. Seemed to be a great guy.

I was stunned when my mom told me this morning! I felt the same feeling of disbelief I'd felt when I heard about Princess Diana's death.

I knew he'd get hurt someday - he's been bitten and hurt so many times already! But this was totally unexpected! I think people were expecting that if ANY creature "got" him, it would be (ironically) a crocodile.

I feel most sorry for Terri and especially his kids, Bindi and Bob (who is still so young and may not realize the impact as much as Bindi will) but at least Steve will live on forever on all the video footage of him and his wife and kids will be able to "see" him anytime they need to.

My nephew has been glued to The Discovery Channel all day with tears streaming down his cheeks. He has been his biggest fan ever since he heard his first "Crikey".I am also heartbroken. He will be missed and never replaced.Although I would certainally support his wife and kids, and his team.Whenever I go to the beach from now on,I will dive in for him and feel his presents,he is Neptune.

not really, but I knew something like that was bond to happen soon, but I'm very sad that something horrible like that happened to him. Rest In Peace Steve Irwin you died doing something that you loved fooling around with animals that you cared about.Rest In Peace.

Well of course I was upset about the fact that he died. But I mean let's be realistic, he was crazy. He did some crazy things that could've got him killed a long time ago. I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but if you live life like that, eventually something like that will happen. He will be missed though.
