One of the best over the counter medicines that I have found is Melatonin. It is usualy by the vitamins in the store and is all natural. I am a nurse and work multiple shifts. If you do try this start with a low dose.

yeah, stay away from Yahoo answers you'll never get any sleep. Also, try chamomile oil in concentrated form. I take a few sniffs of this and i'm out like a baby. It's called aromatherapy.

OKAY,
fill a warm bath with lavender bath salts, (the kind with lavender leaves in it) light a lavender candle. put on some Enya or Sarah Mclachlan, get a good book. relax and if you also use lavender body wash. and drink some Celestial Seasoning Sleepy time tea. no sugar use honey and lemon. and lay in bed. i guarentee you will pass out.

Chamomile tea before bedtime, and St. Johns wort and lavender in your pillow. It's helped me.
Valerian root tea smells like wet sneaker socks. People have used it and say it works, if you can get past the smell.

there isnt much... there is a tea by celestial seasonings i think and theres a night time tea. im not sure if it works but if you cant sleep you should see a doctor there can be a big reason that might need medical attention. also stay away from cafeen it will keep you up.
