High heels, open toe and platforms (the 40's look) are the best to make you look trendy and clasic. Flats also can be wear with dresses, pants and skirts. It depends on what style you like.
Put together pieces to match a style and you can also look in style.com or elle.com to get an idea.
Fall is more about being clasy. The heels 3 inches will be perfect and there are so many beautiful shapes you will enjoy shoping.

What is it with you and heels? ;-)

Here in Scandinavia the fall is coming quickly and today was cold enough for my wife to wear her last season stiletto boots for the first time after the summer. She will be wanting new season boots soon, and I worry about the trend this fall. There are ugly cowboy boots all over and they are not nearly as feminine and pretty as last season's stilettos.

So it may be a difficult search. She will not be getting flats or chunky heels. We have to look carefully to find an acceptable style for her.
