I'm thinking about buying a nice gem-pendant, but I don't like my color too much lol.

Birthstones signify the month you were born in. It has a sense of possessiveness because it is your month. Be proud of it but that doesn't mean you have to stick with buying anything with your birthstone. I buy alot of sapphires to signify my children and amethyst. I do that in rememberance of my children. Three in september and one in february. My birthstone is opal and I can assure you I have nothing in opal. So get what you like girl!!! Nothing is written in "stone" saying you have to buy what you were born to.

Actually they truly make sense.Each birthstone has it's indivitual power.The colour of the birthstone does not matter though it's power matters a lot.And I suggest you go ahead with buying your gem pendant and my mine is emerald which is really powerful.If you want more info on birthstone try searching in the yahoo search bar ok.Anyways nice question.Bye and Best of Luck!

just get the color you like, you don't have to buy the color of your birthstone

Not really, my birth stone is garnet and it looks almost black. I usually never pay any attention to birth stones. I always go for the colors that I like. Who cares about the rest, you are the one who is going to wear it so you should wear what you like. Thats what I go by.

Get another one that you like then. Maybe you could go a month back or a month ahead, especially if you weren't born on your due date.

It's really just folklore. Mine is garnet and I hate it, so I usually get something else myself.
