They look like shrimp with really long legs and they hop really high and far. They don't like the sun or light. I seem to find them in the drains (or close them) and in really dark parts of my room (like under my dresser and in the closet). Raid and other bug sprays don't keep them away and the only way I've found that I can kill them is by stomping on them (if i catch them), spraying hair spray on them, or (if they're near the drains) spraying a foaming cleaner on them.

I really want to know what these bugs are so I know if I sould get my house de-bugged or if they go away (please note that I have only lived in this house for a few months). And also if you could add a picture onto your answer it would help me see if that really is the bug.

If I get any pictures of them I'll update the question's info.

Unless fleas can be like 3 inches long I don't think those are it. And it's not the silver worms or silverfish, we had those at the old house.

And they don't bite.

I'm pretty sure they are crickets. Do you hear chirping at night? They don't chirp when you get close to them.

I assume you know what a roach looks like so it's not that. They don't really jump anyway. Crickets jump very far. They have legs like a grasshopper.

They are usually dark in color, but sometimes have some red, sometimes they are all black. Sometimes they have some white on them if they are always in the dark.

I put two pictures in the source. Crickets can look quite a bit different depending on the species. It it doesn't look exactly like these don't rule them out.

If it is silver fish, they are much smaller, and silvery. They don't jump that far. Maybe a few inches.

girl, you really have serious problem and you dealt with that for two months. Girl you good, I know what type of bug you talking about. And believe me my sister and deal with that too. But the only we did was d- bugged the out and use plenty 4 foggers. place them in the kitchen that means remove everything out, then you put one in your room. try to put all you things in living room. then anothere in the bathroom. And another in hall way. They will stay in the livingroom because its too much light. after you done all that. Spray once a week to keep them away. use RAID MAX in the blue can. But you should have to worried, its about to be cold soon.

I don't know what kind of bug it could be, I live in the middle of nowhere and have all kind of critters all over the place. I sprayed around the outside of the house and inside around the doors, windows, and the bathroom with Ortho Max. I got rid of everything and is safe to use inside and out. It no nasty smell.

Is it a grass hopper. Pick them up by a rag and throw them out of the birds they wiill eat them. Go to a store and ask the clerk what you should use to get rid of them or it could be silverfish. I would call a pest control...Good Luck sorry I did not help you much!!!

Silverfish? I've never seen them hop. Try boric acid. White powder used as a laundry detergent additive. Works great for ants, roaches, or silverfish.

silverworms..they are a pain in the ***. and they dont go away. They especially become prominent in the winter since they dont want to be near the cold. Call someone in to spray the place down, and it should be alright. Good luck.. I feel your pain.

From your description, they are probably fleas.
You will have to fog the house. Better yet, hire a professional to do it.

Excuse me, Jettalady, but silverfish don't look like shrimp and they don't jump.

Go to web search and type in "picture of flea", then "bedbug", then whatever anybody suggests it is and there will be a color picture of the bug. good luck. Are they biting you?
