Now who is ur very most favourite DC/Marvel superhero and why, eh? The most *heartfelt* story gets my lovely ten points!! Make me fall into awe with such inspiration, ppl, lol.

Mine would be Wonderwoman. My story isn't so heartfelt, I just thought I'd find out more about her and her lasso of truth by reading her comics, since then I've been such a huge fan.

There are so many of them!

I've always admired ERG-1 of the Legion of Super Heroes, later known as Wildfire. He sacrificed his life to save Colossal Boy, when he had barely met him, which always impressed me as the mark of true hero. Granted, they brought him back later, but HE didn't know they were going to do that...!

Then there was the Spectre. He was the most powerful of all the DC lineup, he was supposed to be almost literally as powerful as God. They gave him such great stories, even in the 70's, when they downpowered him and made him vicious and bloodthirsty. And I always felt sorry for Jim Corrigan, who had his life cut short.

Batman stands out in my memory as a hero for every little kid who was ever picked on by bullies. Here is someone who is big, dark, meaner and tougher than the bad guys, and he's ON OUR SIDE! Now they'll learn, what it means to be scared...!

Now, I liked Green Lantern, but I have no sympathy for Hal Jordan going off and trying to destroy everything like that. So he lost his hometown; big deal. Kilowog lost his entire planet and species, and he didn't go Lobo over it!

And, even though he's neither DC nor Marvel, I'm going to throw in a plug for Miracleman. He seems so much more superior to the original Captain Marvel. It is difficult for a revamp to surpass the original, but Miracleman did just that. The episode when he is sitting in the woods thinking about all that has happened to him, and he is surprised by a little boy who thinks he is homo was so great. The kid asked, "If you have some chemicals to drink that will give me super powers can I be your partner...?"

Now, remember, that Miracleman had just had a fight with his original partner, Kid Miracleman-- Johnny Bates who had decided not to change back to a mere mortal, and had grown evil. He nearly killed Miracleman, who was still recovering from his injuries. And the kid, all unknowing, asked if Miracleman would give him the power.

I still love to think of how he replied. I'm sure all this flashed through Miracleman's mind; how it must never happen again. And he knew that the boy didn't mean to provoke him to fear, and possibly anger, in a way that no other threat could do.

Miracleman looked at the boy with love, the way I picture Jesus looking at the rich young ruler with love, telling him to sell everything he owned and give it to the poor after the boy had been boasting about how religious and good he was.

And Miracleman said, "no."

How many of us would have had the wisdom and patience to say that, without being exasperated,,,?

i have a couple of faviorites and they are all from the marvel universe but they are not the ones you would expect
the first is silver surfer because he was my uncles fav and it was a way that we bonded
the second is quaser beacuse back when i was a kid my grandma used to take me to this comic store and we would go through all the cheap 25 cent comics and she would pull out the ones she thought were good
i would always grab the superman batman xmen and those guys but she started the idea that i should get a new one every time we went because if there only 25 cents they were cheap enough to do that
she picked the fist new one that happened to be quaser and later i picked up wonderman dark hawk, sleep walker and many other lesser known heroes whos storys i found that i loved. well 15 years later i am still reading comics and own 3000 so i guess my grandma was right about cheaking out new heroes

If you want inspiration, then I recommend the following graphic novels:

"Kingdom Come" by Alex Ross

"The Dark Knight Returns" by Frank Miller

"The Death of Captain Marvel" by Jim Starlin

In my opinion, Kingdom Come is the best story ever told in the DC universe. And it's a must for fans of Wonder Woman :)

The Death of Captain Marvel (Mar-Vell, the Kree warriror with the cosmic powers) stands alone because it's the most dignified death a hero has ever been given. Seeing almost every major character from the Marvel universe make their way to his bedside as he slowly faded away, questioning themselves and their role in the world, realizing that for all their powers and abilities they couldn't save one of their own, was really something.

As for a favorite, I've gotta go with Guy Gardner. He's a complete idiot and a jerk to the core, literally a chimpanzee with a nuclear weapon. But he's the only character that's amusing without fail, and when the chips are down, always scrapping to the last. His bungling in Justice League International, his train-wreck romance with Ice, his boxing matches with Batman & Blue Beetle, his creation of a 50-foot tall image of himself screaming "Super-Wuss" across Metropolis, no other hero could EVER pull that off :)

I'm a Marvel fan, and I've always been partial to Spiderman (even before the movies came out). I thought the original storylines got too swampy, so I picked up the Ultimate Spiderman series and fell in love all over again.

But the love came from early childhood with the 60's Spiderman cartoon (with that famous theme song) and then continued with Spiderman and his Amazing Friends. I always imagined what it would be like to climb walls and swing from webs way up in the sky. As a fan, I'm kind of disappointed by the movies because they don't capture the smart-alecky character of Peter Parker. But anyway, I'll prettymuch always be a Spidey fan.

Thanks for the question!

I have been reading and collecting comic books since I was two years old or younger. Both DC and Marvel comic books are my very most favorite.

My very most favorite DC superhero is WONDER WOMAN because she is wonderful, beautiful, smart, sexy, strong, and amazing. When I was a little girl, I love watching my ultimate 1970s idol, Lynda Carter, whirl from Diana Prince into Wonder Woman. I always wanted to grow up in Paradise Island where only woman rule the world with love, harmony, peace, and sisterhood. I always wanted to be Wonder Woman when I grow up.

My very most favorite Marvel superhero is SPIDER-MAN because he is unique, wonderful, handsome, smart, sexy, strong, amazing, sensational, and spectacular. I love watching the live action TV series and the cartoons when I was a little girl. I love watching Peter Parker change into Spider-Man. I always wanted to marry Spider-Man when I grow up because he is my Prince Charming of all time.

I think Dream of the sandman series was the bomb. He could do anything considering he was the lord of the dreamworld. His siblings Death, Desire, Destruction, Delerium, Despair, and Destiny was an added bonus to represent the evils of man. Not one for the kids though, and was technically a graphic novel. The Sandman was a DC/Vertigo publishing. definitely worth a read both beautifully illustrated, and amazing writing. One of Neil Gaimens best in my opinion.

My favorite group are the X-Men. I love them because they are filled with people from different parts of the world. You have Wolverine who is from Canada, Storm from Africa, Nightcrawler from Germany, Colossus who is Russian and Sunfire who is from Japan. Their backgrounds make them different but their mutant powers makes them all X-Men. As for my "heartfelt" character, it would have to be Rogue because of her being incapable of touching someone and being touch. Could you go without being touched by someone or not being able to have that skin to skin contact? That has to mess with her emotionally which is why my heart goes out to her!!!!
