Mold growth can be removed from hard surfaces with commercial products, soap and water, or a bleach solution of no more than 1 cup of bleach in 1 gallon of water. Never mix bleach with ammonia or other household cleaners. Mixing bleach with ammonia or other cleaning products will produce dangerous, toxic fumes.

Wear a mask and gloves, open the door, and if possible, open the window and turn on a fan and/or vent because bleach is harmful to your health. Bag and discard everything with any moldy residue (ex. rags used to clean the mold).

Also, see a doctor to check things out, because mold can be quite damaging to your health.

Cleaning methods may work and there is a chemical you can buy at a janitorial supply store that is used to get rid of the mold. Ask at the store, can't recall the name but I know insurance contractors use this in claim losses. But if the mold is in behind the wall you have to remove the damaged area and clean in behind, then piece in new. Otherwise your wasting your time cleaning the surface of your wall, it will eventually grow back. You will have to evaluate the situation. Is it possible the condensation could be going in behind the wall? Where is the condensation coming from and why? Correct these problems first then fix your wall.

Use hot water with a little soap, and about 1/2 cup of bleach to about 1 gal. of water. You need to be sure & wear a mask of some type, plus good rubber gloves and scrub the area, rinse, let dry. You can or should paint it with a "Kilz" type of primer after this, and then paint. You should find what is causing the mold besides condensation, could be deeper problems., if so you may have to contact a professional. Good Luck!

I had the same problem a while back ago. You can either use a bleach & water solution, spray it on the wall and let sit for a minute then wash off. Or if you don't like chemicals or the smell of bleach.....a solution of vinegar & water will work because the vinegar is so acidic it will kill the mold spores.

If you should use bleach. Do yourself a favor and wear a face mask. The sell them at Home depot or Lowes. Put the bleach into a spray bottle with half water and half bleach. This will bleach your clothes so wear old clothes. Vinegar and water is another good remedy Half vinegar and half water in a spray bottle. Vinegar will eat up the mold. Good Luck to you!!!

Use a combination of 50% bleach and 50% water in a spray bottle. Spray the area, allow it to dry, the area will have to be sealed with KILZ and then repaint the area. The mold is a living organism if you don't seal it it will grow back.

It really depends on how deep the mold goes. In some cases, you can just cut out the piece of wall, in others, the entire wall might need to be replaced.

You have to figure out where the moisture is coming from and prevent that first. Then use bleach to clean off all bleach, and paint with KILZ.
