DO NOT FLUSH OUT YOUR ENGINE !!!
What will happen , and I have seen it many times is you will dislodge all that gunk and it will get stuck in a bad place like your valve lifters and crank shaft oil gallies. your engine will die a bad death very soon after this type of treatment. IF you feel you must clean it out I would sugest removing the oil pan and clean it out , sorry no quick fix here. I would guess this car has seen a lot of oil from a yellow bottle. I think you know the brand famous for this problem. The best thing you can do is change to a quality oil and change it regularly also change the filter very often . because what happens with filters is that they plug up and there by-pass valve opens and then they send unfiltered oil through the engine..

If you flush it you may end up buying a new engine. If it is high mileage engine that sludge could be doing you a favor. If you remove it you might end up with puddles of oil in your driveway and a nice blue cloud following you around when you are driving.

Easy. Go buy a can of Gunk Engine Flush, cost about $3. Follow the directions on the can. I swear by the stuff. It will make the inside of your engine shine, and clean everything beautifully.

My hubby said to drain the oil out of the engine, change the oil filter, fill it back up with transmission fluid, drive it for two days, then drain the trans fluid out of the motor, change the oil filter and put new oil back in the motor.
It will dissolve the sludge out of the motor.
Add some Lucas Oil Treatment to the oil after you put the oil in.
Good luck

you can buy an engine flush from any parts house...what is important is that you check the oil screen pickup in the oil pan 'cause the big chunks will plug it up...using ATF in the old days was fairly common...just one quart at a time...then change it.
