I actually did not start wearing tampons until I was 24. We lived in an apartment complex and my step daughter was dying to go swimming. So I used them for the first time and to swim and it was fine. They are really absorbant. You should have no problems. Change them before you go to the pool. Depending on how your flow is you may want to take a few with you if you need to go to the bathroom.

Ive been in a swim class for a year and always used a tampon without a problem, don't worry about it. I would keep watch of the time and change/check after an hour to be sure. You will be fine, have fun!

I've gone swimming while wearing a tampon before. It is no big deal. Stay calm, don't be nervous and just go swimming already girl!

I have used tampons while swimming and never had a problem.
I agree with the previous poster and take extra and keep your string inside the suit. Good luck..

take extra tampons, the coolness of the water usually keeps the flow from being heavy, make sure the string is tucked into your suit.

It's fine, but you'll have to change more often, say every two hours, and when you are done swimming.
