My father died August 9, 2006, as of today September 4, 2006 , my mother has still not received his death certificates. Funeral home said one time they sent to wrong address(a P.O. box #) and it came back no deliverable. My mom can't get any of my dad's retirement, military, or insurance policy money until she has death certificates. If anyone can help please let me know.

If the forms came back to the funeral home, why can't they give them to you now? Contact them with the correct address and they can send them to you?

Personally follow-up the filed document at the civil registry so that the death certificate will be expedited.

Go, in person, to the funeral home and ask for their help. Take a good book and politely explain that you are prepared to wait for the certificates.

Remember: polite, polite and firm

You can try asking for the death cert from the Health Dept. If you are in a rush to receive it - you can go there and request one!
