There are some things you can do to relieve your baby’s gas pains.
Burp your baby with every ½ ounce of milk she consumes, or every two to four minutes when breast feeding.
Learn infant massage. Often, infant massage of the tummy will break up large gas bubbles.
Walk around and jostle baby on your shoulder, especially in the evening. The pressure of her tummy on your shoulders may break up the gas bubbles. Do not shake the baby!
Be sure your baby gets some supervised Tummy Time. Lay baby on her tummy with you watching her at all times to be sure she is safe.
Lay your baby on her back and move her legs like a bicycle.
If you breastfeed, rid your diet of foods with caffeine, such as chocolate, sodas, and coffee. Also, try ridding your diet of nuts and dairy.
Many moms and dads report that infant Simethicone (anti-gas) drops, like Mylicon or Little Tummies Gas Drops.
If you are still concerned just remember that this is fairly common. Until then hang in there and give your son all the encouragement you can.

Are you breastfeeding or bottle feeding. If you are breast feeding I would watch what you eat. Cut out the roughage in your diet and try to limit you amount of dairy. If you are bottle feeding then try a different formula. You may have to try several before you come across the right one. You may also try a different kind of bottle. I prefer Playtex Premium but I have heard that the Dr. Brown bottles work great for gas. You can also try to give your little one Mylicon. This is a gas relief drop that will help get rid of gas in about 10 min.

I agree with the Baby Bliss Gripe Water- it is all natural and helped a lot with my daughter. She is 3 months old and I still give it to her in almost every bottle. The mycilon or simethicone did NOTHING! Also, remember that 6 weeks is about the height of gas/fussiness- he will get better soon. Hang in there.

Gripe Water by Baby Bliss is the best by far. We use Dr. Brown's bottles and tried mylicon and other solutions, but Gripe Water is the only one that really works and our doctor said it's fine for he baby. Drug stores in your area should carry it, but we also buy some on drugstore.com. Good luck to you and your little guy. We felt your pain and gripe water has made it better.

Something I learned with my babies to get rid of gas is baby massage. It's good for bonding and there is a certain way you can massage their little tummies that will help relieve the gas. So if you don't know how to yet, I highly recommend taking a class with your baby. It is good for a lot of things. My babies and I had lots of success with it. Most of all I loved the time I spent bonding with them.

Gas drops and lay the baby down and make bicycling motions with his little legs while on the floor. It relieves trapped gas.

go to the pharmacy and ask the pharmasist where you can find infants gas relief drops. They really work. I had the same problem with my son, and you will be so relieved to know that there is something out there that can help him to be more comfortable.

They have the gas drops you can give him. Im wondering are you breastfeeding or giving him formula because when my son was born I was giving him regular formula and he had gas pains and nothing worked until we switched to soy based formula...

Baby bliss gripe water is great. It was always more effective for us than Mylicon. You can just put the dose in her bottle!
