Oh, I guess dogs. After all when's the last time you heard of a cat finding someone alive under a collapsed building, or jumping into freezing water to rescue a child, or guiding a blind person through the perils of everyday life, or guarding your most valuable possessions, or attacking someone who was threatening your life, or sniffing out illegal drugs in someone's car or luggage, or pinpointing someone's location under an avalanche, or warning an epileptic when a seizure is about to occur, or waiting for you to return home with the equivalent of joy.
Cats are, well I have to be nice, cats. I love the way people justify having a cat by saying "Oh, look, kitty's being aloof, or kitty thinks she's royalty." When in truth, kitty has a brain pan the size of your pinkie toe and can only function on a limited basis. For crying out loud, they're too stupid to let outside so you have to buy a crap box so they can dump in the house. Here's a pretty good example. If you feed a cat, any cat, a stray cat, outside your house, the cat will always come back to that place to look for food, whether there is any or not, whether anyone lives there or not, whether there's even a house there. Feed a dog outside, and he'll check back, but if there's no food, he moves on, finds another source of nourishment and survives. Cats have tree climbing skills but can't figure out how to get down. There's a cat in my neighborhood who climbs the same tree at least three times a week, then can't find the damn down button, so it'll sit in that tree for days until the owner (who thinks that the cat is depressed and wants to be alone) calls for help and gets the cat out of the tree. Yeah, I think dogs.

It's really hard to say. They both have their pros and cons. Dogs tend to smell more than cats. Dogs make the couch smell and cats don't. But cats pee in a box and it smells even if you scoop everyday. Dogs usually pee outside, but that can ruin your green lawn and make it brown where they peed. Dogs are very loyal and need way more attention. Cats are independant but are snotty sometimes. Cats scratch even when they don't mean to hurt you. Dog don't have sharp claws. Dogs don't usually scratch the couch up. They are both great either way. I would pick cat only because I live in an apartment. If I lived in a house I would pick a dog.

I truly love cats and dogs........I love cat's personalitys...But i also love a lot of dog's personalitys. I've got a dog named Willow and she's got quite a personality. She's a little bichon frise but,She's a wonderful guard/watch dog even though she's only 2feet long! I want a cat but,We already have three dogs and two of them arn't fond of kitties. But,At the local music store in my town, they have a cat that lives there and her name is Kia. They found her at a dump and the owner decided that she would be the stores mascot. And that was 15 years ago. She's a really beautiful cat too. She's a pure white cat with one green eye and one blue. So to me and my older brother she's kinda like "our" own kitty. She's got a mysterious personality...But i love it too. She doesn't let you pick her up unless she really "knows" you. She's adorable...She licked me the other day.(she rarely licks people)I've known Kia for a few years..So of course i've began to love her like she was my own pet. So...I love cats and dogs.....I could never even dreaming of picking one or the other.

Dogs, of course!!!!
Cats are just plain annoying.. they don't do anything except eating and lazing around the house.
Having a dog, on the other hand... especially a big one, is almost like having a fun loving brother who's always there for you. They'd wrestle with you, go running with you, play games, joke around.. they'd even listen to your venting. Plus, study shows that girls with dogs look twice as attractive in front of guys (and the other way around, too)!! :D
Yeah, dogs demand alot of love and attention, but they have so much more to give back in return.
Their excitement in welcoming you home after a long day at work is so contagious... they give you this warm and comforting feeling by nozzling your side or laying on your feet... and it's amusing to see them dreaming in their sleep... :-)
DOGS RULE!!!

I have 4 cats and 2 little dogs and I do love them all, but the cats are just easier, because they are so independent, yet loving at the same time. dogs tend to be more demanding of attention and they slobber all over you all the time, but on the other hand they always make you feel loved. Tough choice.

Cats. I don't dislike dogs, but they have one mode all the time - they constantly want attention. Every second with a dog (unless it is really well trained) is spent with the dog's nose in your crotch, it sniffing your crotch, jumping up to be pet, etc. Dogs are SO HIGH MAINTENANCE - even the well trained ones need a lot more attention and maintenance than cats. Some people have had bad experiences with cats, but my cats have been good. They like to be pet (most of the time) but they aren't on you like flies on shi* constantly.

I'd rather pick a Chupacabra. It is my life long dream to catch one. Either the Mexican or Puerto Rican subspecies. It's clear to me that the Chupacabra is far more attractive than a mere cat or dog. You see, it's the Mexican Goat Sucker. A kind of vampire if you will. Considering the threat to national security coming from outside our borders, I think it's important that the Mexican Goat Sucker not make it inside the US. At least the contiguous US. It drives me nuts to learn that this monstrosity and security threat may have made it to one of our territories. Does this help?

Dogs. I find dogs to be almost human-like. They will spend more time with a human then a cat. Cats do their own thing.

A dog is ten times more loving than a cat. It's loyal, a great companion and friend, and it's love is unconditional. A cat is much too impersonal and everything must be on it's terms (what kind of love is that?!?).
