Your parents probably are from a generation where being gay is something to be kept quiet, and its probably hard for them to understand that not all homosexuals are like the stereotypes. Maybe they don't understand the difference between transsexuals, transvestites, homosexuals, and...emo kids who wear eyeliner. Or maybe they just don't approve of a boy wearing eyeliner and calling you "gay" is the best way they can think of to insult you or to get you to stop.

LOL...You shouldnt wear eyeliner if you care what others think about you... You might as well go on and throw a dress in as well... That may help them see that your not gay! LOL Emo sucks. Dont wear makeup! That in to enhance beauty.. What do you care about your beauty? you are a strait guy trying to prove you arent gay!

Probably because their son wears eyeliner. Come on, quit embarrassing them and start acting like a man, not some pansy. Quit living off of some made up term to describe you freaks, and get a life. If you are a boy who likes to wear make up, then thats what you are.

I dont think you even know what emo is. You're just throwing yourself in a category and doing what "rockstars" do to try to fit in, get attention, look cool or whatev. C'mon, Davey Havok and them just do it because they're getting paid to do it and it fits the rockstar image. First impressions make a big deal. Loose the eyeliner.

Because a lot of parents were raised thinking only women wore make up.. and most did until the whole glam thing in the 70s... Now the emo thing... *sigh* thats one thing I will never understand...

maybe sitting down with your parents and explaining to them why you wear it, and showing them that other people wear it, like your friends, musicians, etc. would help them to understand. I knew a guy in high school that wore eyeliner, kilts, combat boots, all kinds of wild stuff0- his parents thought the same until he brought home a group of his friends, and they realized it wasnt that he was gay.

well in there world make up is for girls only, just suggest to them that you like it (the eyeliner), but say you become a full on Goth(sorry to the true Goth out there)if they continue hasseling you about the eyeliner.

My guess is that it's a lack of communication between you and your parents. Why else would you be asking this question to complete strangers on the internet, and not asking your parents? You should be happy they notice. That's your goal, isn't it?
