It was a great example of what a talented film director can do with even a mediocre script.
The script had WAY too many flaws in it to lift to the heights of the 1978 classic.
To be perfectly honset, I think this film would have been better served by re-starting the Superman mythology in the 1950s. A simpler time that better serves a character like Supes.

I loved it. Kevin played a murderous Lex Luthor--something I've been dying to see since forever! And could anyone be better for the role of Jimmy Olsen? Finally, a redhead! I also adored the throwbacks to the first two films and even the first issue comic cover.
And I like how they kept the ending open. If they do a sequel (and I'm sure they will), I'll bet it'll be about Lois trying to figure out how she had Superman's child and how Superman knew to examine the kid's DNA, because Lois certainly didn't tell him!
The only thing about it I didn't like was the lack of an "S" on the cape. This is a trend I don't like. It first happened with "Superman: Peace on Earth," continued with "Superman, the Animated Series," and has been picked up here. NO! NO! NO! I can understand leaving it out for the cartoon, but the rest is simply unacceptable!

Hmm... I have to admit there were points to this film I loved. The throwback to the Christopher Reeve Superman credits and the use of John Williams Superman Theme music were MOST enjoyable. The story was pure comic book superman, mosreso these later year versions, of course. In the old days Superman would not have had a child, nor left Earth alone for years even to visit a supposedly found Krypton. That being said, there were points I didn;t like, the outfit was too dark for one. But all in all, it was better to me then Superman 3 and 4. I would recomend it to Any child fan of Superman. (Since my resident child fan of Superman loved it!)

how about a hi! I talked with regard to the flick on preshow and performance been attempting my basically right no longer to ruin the action picture for others who have not gotten to be certain it yet. I loved it. The actor, Routh?, who performed Kent/Supe did a good activity stepping in on that area. even with the reality that he appeared somewhat too GQ for me, he nevertheless had the Superman seem. I basically had a authentic complicated time seeing the actress forged as Lois Lane. She did not pull it off sufficient for me. i imagine it replaced into certainly nicely actually worth the money and not in any respect a rip off. It replaced into the modernday tale of a tale versed in the 50's. It did not position superman in the Smallville schedule (thank the gods). The storyline, i assumed, replaced into diverse. I mean yeah, Lex luthor replaced into nevertheless attempting to take over the international via power. Lex nevertheless had the female unluck ingredient (imagine he'd learn via now). notwithstanding the storyline wasn't about the "fantastic" deeds the DC hero ought to do...it replaced right into a human tragedy and inspirational piece. in case you are able to dig it, then purchase it. there is not any way this one unmarried fiolm ought to conquer the unique video clips. Mr. Reeves bore a legend in the b&w serials and Mr. Reeve made a legend take position. Mr. Routh successed in extending that legend. i imagine probable, Mr. Routh ought to were Mr. Reeve's son...or a minimum of an intensive cousin. He replaced right into a good seen decision for the area aswell as a good change, in case you are able to pardon that vulgar time period. via no skill am I pointing out he replaced right into a 2d decision, in basic terms that on account that Mr. Reeve replaced into no longer accessible, Mr. Routh preformed admirably.

It was okay. Superman was cute. It had kind of a dreary or dark undertone. My niece saw a bootleg version and she said she could hardly see it. They could have had a little sun on there.

It was pretty good. There is a ton of CRAP out there in the theaters, and this was pretty entertaining and not TOO predictable...
