Have you ever been hurt by a hypocrite? If, so how?

1) Tell me how they led you to believe they were something other than what they turned out to be.

2) Why did you hav this expectation of them and how did they disappoint you?

I once went to a church full of hypocrites.

While there I ultimately backslid, turning away from them and God. For a time I believed God was like them, and so I avoided God.

But the truth is I was wrong to turn away, and I take full responsibility for my mistakes. I was weak in my faith, and I really can't blame anyone, hypocrite or not.

Fortunately I was wrong and God is nothing like them. He (God) lead me back to Him, forgave me, and gave me another chance. I learned that He loves me like crazy and His mercy and grace are more than anyone can imagine. I am forever thankful and in love with the Lord!

My step-mother, long before she was my step-mother. She lead me to beleive that she was a God fearing woman and had tolarance and love for others as the Bible taught her. So long as we were in public she kept up this face, and acted as if she understood where I was coming from in my own beleifs. My parents, as she was a close friend to the family, then saw no harm in my going to her house for summer vacation one year. Away from prying eyes she then made me sleep on the floor to learn what it was to suffer and get closer to God by repenting my sins. She would also lock me in the room i stayed in if i refused to go to her church with her, and also with held my medication(im hypo-glcemic and sometimes need glucose pills to even out my blood sugar) saying once i was truely sorry for my sins God would heal me.Later in life she told me I was going to burn in hell for having anulled my first marriage due to abuse from my first husband. Yet a few years have passed and here she is divorced from her first husband and married to my father. The reason her first husband left her was he caught her cheating on him with several other men. After everything she had already put me through the fact she couldnt even stay true to her own faith was a major let down, I mean what was with all the making me do this and that, just to find out she didnt really beleive in it?GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!Ah well, thanks for letting me rant.

I met and fell in love with a guy on-line.Come to find out that he was a police sargent for Chicago PD.We began to talk on the phone alot and shared alot of things about each other. I liked him because he seemed to be a straight up guy and down to earth.He told me all about his family background and I told him mine. He even let me speak to members of his family.He always told me he never said anything he didn't mean and I believed him. So we've talked for a year and began to talk about being with each other. I was going to move to Illinois and we were going to get married. But everytime he said he was going to send for me, he would find a reason to get mad at me and stop talking to me. So I would wait a while and call him and he would act like he was glad to hear from me and missed me. So I started having some problems at home so I took off and moved to Indiana to be closer to him. When he found out I was here he was all happy about it and said he still wanted to be with me. But on my second day here, I asked him to come see me and he said he was. But then he got mad at me for a reason only God knows and stopped talking to me again. So now I'm here, on the other side of the country because he said he loved me and wanted to be with me, and then turns his back on me when I get here!
