Some application or program is running and is eating up your usage. Have you updated your virus definitions recently (for Norton Antivirus)? Maybe you contracted one that Norton wasn't able to catch due to out-of-date definitions.

As a general key, keep an eye on how many days are left on your Norton subscription. It will not protect your computer as well within a week of the due date. (It won't at all after word.)

If you have a licenced copy of windows software, try to download "windows defender" software from microsoft's website.(They allow downloads to only licensed copies only). However the software is free to download. It acts as a Firewall, an antispyware, and as a software explorer where you can see details of all software allowed to run at startup, and currently running programs, it also tells you about the manufacturer of the program, and if it is a trusted or valid software or not.
Also it gives you an option to stop it temperorily, or block it from running , remove it from startup etc. And these settings are reversible.

You may have to remove Zonealarm, if you decide to use windows defender, as they both are same type of programs.

Any no response program that show in your task manager? Try "msconfig" (for Win Xp) to find out what program that you are running. Click start -> run -> type "msconfig" in box and enter.

Check what program/s is/are causing this and shut them down if they are not important. And just a random comment: You have a really good computer!
