Navy seals are awesome, but they must go through a very intense training. The chance of dying is not very high as you are trained to defend yourself, but the chance of quitting training is high. I watch a show on the training and only 17 out of 36 guys that started graduated as SEALS. Good decision to join the Navy though, they have some great jobs in the branch, chances to learn a lot and see the world, only downside is it is the toughest branch for the families and relationships.

You know, that is between you and your God. You could die crossing the street or wrong place, wrong time. Same goes for any of us. Life is to be lived and so you shall until death comes. Meantime, if being a Navy Seal is what makes you happy and you have many good reasons for doing so, then don't let this chance pass you by. We'd never get anything accomplished in life if we had to wonder if doing this or that "could" lead to an untimely death. Go ahead, live a little and I'll be praying for you to safely return....

The purpose of any combatant is to make THE OTHER GUY die in combat. I guess your chances are measured by how good are you and of course, if your time has come. Really tho, you shouldn't join the Seals if that is your top concern.

I would ask that you consider the Air Force. My son joined last year and LOVES it. He will have a job in computers and had gone to college for 3 years before so he does have an advantage be he says it is a great place to be for anyone. Check it out before you decide!!

well if u fear of dead don't even thinking about become Seals, the training is the one u need to worry. if u able to make the all training than the real life don't mean much. seals go on special mission, die in combat does happend but not very often. Most death of seals is not in combat!!

..i don't know..there's less chance in the air force because it all depends on the field you go into two of my cousins are in the air force one is an airplane mechanic and the other is a police officer & has to travel to kuwait & then later iraq to guard weapons so if you are in the air force you can have a job that requires no danger & then a job that has a lot of danger

If you make the mental and physical cut to be one, your survival chance in every military operation is a very slim 2%.
