his car will start up and go in reverse, but as far as driving it, it will not go any where. I did a little research and i think that maybe he just has low transmission fluid and he needs to fill up the fluid. He says no, that his transmission is out. But I told him i did'nt think the transmission was totally out, because if the transmission is out it would'nt be able to start or go in reverse. I am not sure who is right. If you know something about cars. feel free to answer me back ASAP

Your brother is right. Here's why---
The transmission is used mainly in forward gears, from creeping around to accelerating down the highway, and needs a variety of ratio selections to do that. For this reason, there are a multitude of clutches for the forward action.
Reverse, however is used only for short distances and all those clutches are not really necessary for day-to-day use.
So, to keep the fewer reverse clutches from slipping, the transmission applies double the line pressure to the reverse clutch to make it secure. It will still go in reverse if it doesn't have this extra pressure, but not for long.
He has most likely lost the transmission. The "check Engine" light is most likely illuminated as well.
It is going to have to go to the dealer or a REPUTABLE transmission shop. Sorry.
Good Luck

Well you both are right. First check the level and condition of the trans. fluid. If it is low then just top it off. But Chrysler has had issues with their transmissions going out at the most inopportune time. The symptoms you stated are entirely possible. Unfortunately this is a repair you do not want to get involved with as transmissions are quite complicated, especially the electronically controlled ones.
