I am. I think it's a shame that he left a widow and a little girl who might not remember her father.

Me here in Toronto, Canada.
Very, very sad news.
My kids were very sad to hear the news too. They are all under 10 but are very familiar with him and his work.
He will be missed. But I like to think he went out the way he would want - being so close to animals and trying to teach people about them. I
am sure his wife and children will continue what he started.
I remember seeing his young daughter handling wild animals on late night TV a few years back - she will be the next "crocodile hunter" I think.
I feel for his wife and children.
Oz lost a real great guy.

poor man I feel bad for his wife and kids. I used to watch his show sometimes on the animal planet channel. I thought the guy was crazy for being around those dangerous and wild animals that he loved so much. He had no fear of them. He had guts to do what he did. IVe been expectin somthing like this to happen to him but i thought that a crocodile wouldve kiiled him not a stingray. POOR man May god bless his family and may he rest in peace. His death was a freak tragedy indeed

I am. Sometimes you watch someone enough on TV and you feel like he's a bud. A lot of people are feeling sad. I was viewing the news and events category and there are many comments about the guy. At least it was quick and he certainly would have preferred to go that way than rot away in a rest home.

I feel bad for him and his family. To have a stingray get you right in the heart had to be a painful thing. He died loving what he did best. I salute him and his family for their bravery throughout his career. He will be remembered always as the Little Giant" to me who could conquer almost anything in the 'World of Wild Life."
To you Crocodile Hunter your memory will live on and we Thank You for all your great shows.

For some odd reason, hearing that he died makes me really sad. I mean, I don't understand why I feel so strongly about his death. It's a terrible accident and an amazing person died. RIP Steve Irwin.

I was actually kind of shocked to hear it. I had a feeling an animal would get him some day, kind of like that one guy who was eaten by a bear while filming them in their natural habitat (From that documentary 'Grizzly Man'). It just shows that animals are unpredictable and you should leave them alone.
