Which is the best and easiest to use free personal web space?

not sure if there is a difference between free web space and free web hosting....i just need something small and personal and easy to use.

Your best bet is 1&1. For ~$6/year, you get your own
domain name, a 5 page website, a 1G mail box, etc.
