My friend. Let me explain, from my conservative viewpoint, (like yourself I expect - representin'! Sorry... back on point.)
Basically the left thinks that "Equal Rights" ARE special treatments for people who have been "victimized" by the system. The libs don't want equality, in general, they just want to promote their cause. Which more and more appears to be marxism.
The reason they cost you your rights is because they hate you.
[Sarcasm]You're probably one of those evil white, Christian, Protestant, male, American, non-drug-user, straight person and you don't like illegal immigrants who are just here to work and live out the American dream! You probably shop at Walmart where they pay their employees with shoe leather as food and force them to use rusty steel toilet seats. Damn you and your desire for free trade, morals and values![/Sarcasm]
Seriously man/woman! They think the U.S. is evil and that we should sympathize with the poor victimized _______. (Fill in the blank. Gays, Muslims, Minorities, anarchists, drug dealers, criminals... whoever.)
It's the sad truth man. I don't know why they hate heterosexual, christian white people. (Please note I'm referring to the extreme left, which has been hijacking the dems for years now.)
Sigh... thank god for Michael Savage, or I might lose it. The key my friend is that you don't hold back! Don't ever be ashamed to be a conservative! The cool thing right now is to be liberal, and particularly here in Pittsburgh, PA - keep your head on straight and think 'right'.
P.S. - This forum makes me frustrated. A few more liberal arguements that lack all substance and I think I might lose it.

What special rights do you speak of, precisely?
And why do they cost you yours?
Are you saying liberals want the same special rights that you currently have and they don't have?
Are you drunk? You are not very good at getting your point across in a clear manner.
Perhaps if you would let your chest deflate a little, you might be able to think better?

If there are three people. Two of them have a certain right. The third does not.
How is it not an equality issue to give the same right to the third person? Or to say that you can't discriminate against the third person because they are different?
Your argument makes no sense. Non-discrimination means treating everyone the same, and NOT making differences. You want to make differences, which IS discrimination by definition.
Why is that concept so difficult for people to understand? What special rights do you think anyone is asking for?
{EDIT}
I'm not talking about affirmative action. That is special rights (reverse discrimination) for one particular group, and that I agree is wrong.

You are such an ignorant person. All Americans that work pay taxes, follow the Law have the right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. Black Gay or whatever. A Gay Couple should have rights as any married couple because LOVE IS LOVE....Blacks will never reach the proper tier in this life if White Man keeps pushing him back and putting every new group above them. All you F ing Conservatives lack compassion

What?
I am really confused by your question. Want to give me something more - like how liberals desire equal rights, but then request "special" rights? And how do they cost you your rights? I am really at a loss, and I am not trying to be "smart" here.

Whoa, back up! I do indeed want equal rights, NOT special rights. I want to make the same $ for the SAME JOB as any man. Right now, I make about $0.87 on every $1.00 that a man makes IN THE SAME JOB. I also want MEN to be able to take Paternity Leave, same as women take maternity leave. I want to be able to get married, and in the USA I cannot because my partner is also a woman. How are those Special Rights??? How are THOSE costing you anything?

Since I am gay I have a tendancy to think that a question like this is directed to the gay community, not to "liberals."
If you are an organizer of a St. Patrick's Day Parade or are a leader in the Boy Scouts, then your rights do trump mine. See the U.S. Supreme Court rulings in 1995 and 2000 dealing with those subjects.

Why is it that liberals have to pay for a useless war, are rights more important than oil? yes, i think so. What our country needs is to have protection of civil liberties. The spiral into facism is started , ( http://www.oldamericancentury.org/14pts.htm ) . luckly im a swiss/US dual citizen so i can move there when it gets really bad

You may want to look up the word "liberal". It's the neo-cons who are trying to take away your rights. After all, they're in charge of everything, are'nt they ?

Why do you care? You obviously haven't exercised your "rights" to earn an education. Your question makes no sense whatsoever.
